There are shitloads of breaks on the Gower, all are worth a look. Due to the shape of the Gower peninsular there is usually an offshore beach somewhere regardless of the wind direction. If you serious about having a crack at the gower your best bet is getting the Surf UK book, it has listings of all the gower breaks and indeed all the major breaks in the UK. This is its amazon address. Here's some information on the most popular spots...
Llangennith
A very popular spot in the Gower, but big enough to take the crowds. Good longboarding spot and a nice beach for beginners, it has left and rights and is considered to be a very consistent break. N to SE winds are best, beware of big swells as the paddle out an be a nightmare. You can hire all the surf gear you need at the local surfshop, run my local surf legend PJ who in my opinion looks like a mexican gun slinger.
Langland
Another popular Gower spot. There are three breaks here in all, two sand and one reef. THe sand breaks work right through the tides, the reef only works from mid tide up. All three breaks can offer left and right handers. Works in most conditions except between SE and E.
Oxwich
This can be a heavy spot, but like Tenby needs a big shwell to set it off. When its working it can offer a quick and hollow beach break. Good for beginners too. This beach is generally visited when SW winds are blowing out other breaks. NW to W winds are offshore. Have a dabble when everywhere else is shit. I aquired this snap from the freshwater east website. Trivia: House prices here are higher than in Splott in Cardiff and most of Milford Haven, including Hakin.
